About PDDI

Product Design & Development, Inc., also known as PDDI, is a full service tool and die company located in York, Pennsylvania. PDDI began in business in 1976 serving the window and door manufacturing industry providing complete turnover packages that included window design, hardware design, testing assistance, fabrications equipment and metal stampings for window needs. Over time we have expanded our offerings to include plastic injection molded parts, machined parts, as well as our capacity to serve manufacturers outside of the architectural product community.

All of PDDI window and door designs are according to AAMA specifications, from residential to AW ratings, included with our designs are assembly drawings, extrusion drawings, fabrication drawings and bills of material.

Our full service tool and die department is capable of assisting customers in the manufacturing of precision parts and high quality tools to help produce the desired end product that they demand. We have a complete design staff ready to help you determine what tools may work best and fit within your budget, to final design and follow through to make sure that the tooling meets our customers’ expectations. All dies and equipment are designed in-house with detailed drawings and updated records so that you know when any replacement parts are needed in a hurry we can provide fast turnarounds and keep your line up and running. PDDI designs using AutoCAD software and can also provide designs in Solidworks 3D format as well.

Our tooling includes punch dies, automated equipment, drilling machines, milling machines, routers, hand tool operations, holding and welding fixtures, jigs, and gaging fixtures. We have designed inline processing equipment for plastic extrusion companies. We also have extensive experience in punching materials from stainless steel, aluminum, carbon steels, to many types of plastics and composite materials.

The in -house machine shop consists of both manual mills and CNC mills, wire EDM services, precision grinding, lathes, heat treat ovens and general machine shop tools. Along with custom tooling and machine work, PDDI also offers contract machining services. Our stamping department include punch presses ranging from small 15-ton presses up to larger 60- ton presses. We can assist in the design of Stamped hardware, work together to provide prototypes of proposed product and engineer that appropriate tooling required to run in one of our in-house presses or a customers press.

PDDI has a fully equipped injection mold facility on site, that offers competitively priced molds and molded parts. Whether you are interested in a couple of thousand parts or hundred of thousands of parts we can assist from design to prototype to finished product. Our injection molders range from 5-ton to 35-ton machines.
